Tea Time With Liz

You're sitting in your favorite overstuffed chair, warming your hands around a steaming cup of goodness that you just poured out of an heirloom teapot. By the way, ten years ago you didn't want that blue and yellow teapot, but you hid it in your cupboard in memory of your dear old Great Aunt Bertha.

The teapot is resting on the only four inches of your dining room table that isn't buried under three weeks worth of junk mail and overdue bills. Oh yes, there's also yesterday's creation out of Play Dough, the home work that your nine year old daughter should be working on right now, a stack of cookbooks that you were using to plan the week's meals, and there's no telling how your seven year old son's ant farm took up residence right smack in the middle...

You're enjoying your five minute break from the hustle and bustle of life. You're taking in the comfort that's seeping through the hot cup, and your mind takes you back in time reminding you of people you wish you'd have kept better in touch with.

Your Cousin Rachael, yes she married that handsome fireman. They now have four children. Has their youngest had his third birthday yet?

There's also that sweet lady in the deli department at the grocery store who remembers your children's names and always seems to be smiling and positive about life. You wanted to give her a nice card with a tin of cookies to show your appreciation...

I enjoy making cards.

Up until now, I've only made cards when I had a reason to send one to a friend. My friends and family have been urging me for years to sell my cards. So here's a start. :)

I make and send cards with the desire to brighten someone's day, and to give encouragement.
